Back in the 80's when I was doing paint and body on cars to supplement my own vehicle projects, a buddy from school wanted some stuff done.
 He had a 911, roofers dropped a brick on its roof next to the door. He was adamant about no Bondo. I was able to "reverse the wave" in the metal (wasn't stretched at all) so I didn't need to touch the head liner or work from the inside.
The paint was white lacquer so super easy to touch up. The paint was faded and to match my repair I went ahead and rubbed out the entire car. Learned a lot about those cars just by feeling all the contours and exploring every inch.
