@Mos - It was a lot of work, but by the end of it, I got to the point where I could knock one out in an evening which made it seem like it was always moving forward. What really surprised me was how little tools I needed to buy to achieve these results. Leathercraft is just like any other craft (woodworking included) where there is a tool or appliance for everything, but you can get by with a lot of the tools we use for woodworking. For example, I didn't buy a stitching pony because I have a little wooden saw vise which did the job just as well. I didn't buy a skiving knife because it is essentially a sharp chisel and I have plenty of those. I didn't buy anything to apply dye to the leather edges because dipping an awl in the dye and rolling it along the edge is all you need to do, etc.
