Great video Mos... Not a fan of bowls (even your shallow ones), however, I did find the video and your presentation more enjoyable than initially thought.
Once oiled that walnut plate looked great, but then (in my opinion) the blank, oiled, would still have looked great.
As a display piece, I can see major use, but for kitchen use, I just don't drink enough to justify.
If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
