LBD:- thanks and it was a necessity to avoid a machine ripping out a chunk, pity I didn't take a picture doing it, ... push the plane at an angle and its almost like a helix cutter on the veneer. No you haven't wasted your money you will just have to wait a little bit, so maybe you could enjoy a cask or two meantime!
