George....I made this out of a 2x6 and figuring out the different size circles needed to form the shape top to bottom. Then I made a small platform that had an anchor pin on the bottom for holding the laminated assembly of these parts from the bottom while rotating. This will prevent drill press quill damage while rotating. This whole platform is clamped on top of my drill press. In addition I made a contour gauge out of plywood to check contour as I went. I used various rasps and chisels for shaping and constantly checking with contour gauge. I made a slot through the center on the platform allowing me to place the contour gauge in it and slide it up to the stationary part for checking its developing shape. Then continuing. I hooked up a vacuum port as well. Hope this helps. If you need more let me know. Cheers!
