That’s a good project to learn dovetails on. I find I use them on most corners now, down to 1/4 inch thick stock. I’ll sometimes do miters and (hand-cut dovetailed) splines if I want that look, with a contrasting spline and a grain-wrap that meets at the corner, but 90% of the time when I’m making a box, I cut dovetails. And nearly everything ends up being a box.
