BB1 - The stools are getting upholstered. The base is just a 2" high walnut box. Not sure if I will be back again after I deliver the other furniture. And L/W, I'll get some pics when I set it up at the house.
Renners - This walnut is stained, but normally the color can be all over the place. I usually go through the whole pile to get consistent boards. I have dealt with the lumber company for so long they will pull a fresh unit down if I ask them to. But I don't abuse that favor unless I'm desperate.
The panels are veneer over plywood core.
