Splint, skills might have gotten a little better, if nothing else I have gained experience (both good and bad)
I started my first shop with a partner in 1985. Dissolved that, and re-opened a new shop in 1992. I did mostly commercial work out of 5000' building, with normally 6-8 guys. We mostly did retail store work, building out the store fronts, interior displays, cash counters and whatever other weird stuff they came up with. Have done store work in NY, Houston, Georgia, AZ, a bunch in Cal, and in many of the malls here in Vegas. I closed that shop in 2006, in which I have been a one man band ever since. I try to only post stuff I have made after 2006, but I'm sure I've slipped a few in from before. Probably TMI, sorry. I have stories and pictures I could share for days upon days.
The burl in the wood room I believe is a faux painted wall. I wish it was burl now that I look at it, would have been a nice touch.
No carving from me, store bought plinths. I'm a short cut kind of guy. yes, extra space behind TV.
Thanks everybody else, I appreciate it.
Pottz, I'm sure there are a lot of previous pictures I have posted on other sites you may have visited before.
Honestly, I rarely even think of that site, let alone go there to read anything. The last times I have been just reassures me that it's a waste of time.
Thanks Jim, Most of the work was done a little at a time, probably over a few years.
Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.
