I tried (twice) to get scripted safety glasses from several optometrists a few years back using my employers vision plan. Normally if you require them for the job, my employer will supply them at 100% coverage, but I don't qualify for that.
Anyhoo, I figured I could use the regular vision insurance (discounts basically), but the opto shops said they need a letter from my employer even if they are for my personal use. WTF?
This place may be worth a try even if I have to go fully out-of-pocket.
