I haven't been here in forever, sorry. Here's a little contribution at least.

Years ago I looked for some prescription shop glasses and didn't really find any. I knew there had to be some but for some reason I couldn't find any. I gave up and just wore my normal glasses in place of proper safety glasses. I know that's not the same but what can a guy do I guess.

Fast forward maybe 5 years and out of the blue I get an email from johnmalecki.com. I might have seen this guy on YouTube at some point but I definitely don't remember signing up for his site but out of the blue, one comes in talking about prescription glasses. He's going to offer prescription safety glasses? Super weird but I did a Quick Look and obviously he is just third party contracting this out under his own brand. Glasses can be had for as little as $49 with a simple prescription  but I require progressive lenses which are expensive, so for these safety glasses the progressive are only $200 which is actually pretty cheap in the glasses world. My normal glasses have filters and transition and progressive and....they have a lot of features but cost over $500, so $200 for progressives is really nice. I decided to place an order. Just over a week later they arrived today and I'm impressed.

The script was done really well, better than I expected for the money. I don't think they look all that great but my wife stated she would do me wearing them so that's a win. Overall they feel nice while wearing them and I'm super pleased after all these years to actually have a legit pair of safety glasses for the shop now.

I obviously have no affiliation with this company so take this for what you paid for it but I am pleased so far. I opted not to shoot a nail gun toward my face to test these but I will be in the shop all weekend giving them a proper go.

They don't look all that bad to me Dave, but sitting on the desk doesn't really show them off. I know, take a picture of yourself wearing them.🤓
I too wear progressives and don't have any safety glasses. I should take a look at them. Just today I was using a Dremel on a piece of metal and was afraid I would break the bit.

I think you and Kenny just try and collect pics of me Duck. Here is the John dude wearing them, screen shot from the banner on his website. That'll have to do for now.

I use my annual prescription safety glasses allocation at work to get mine.  These look a lot better than the ones I can order thru work though.
i just bought a pair of the regular. i hope they live up to the hype? tired of cheap ones full of scratches !

I'll get a better feel for them this weekend when I spend some quality time in the shop but overall the script was good on it. I can't speak for the scratch resistance yet. Hopefully I won't have to worry much about that. I will keep these in a case when not in use to prevent damage.

I tried (twice) to get scripted safety glasses from several optometrists a few years back using my employers vision plan. Normally if you require them for the job, my employer will supply them at 100% coverage, but I don't qualify for that.
Anyhoo, I figured I could use the regular vision insurance (discounts basically), but the opto shops said they need a letter from my employer even if they are for my personal use. WTF?

This place may be worth a try even if I have to go fully out-of-pocket.
Splinter I had the same issue. I then tried to go on my own and really couldn't find a place to sell me some in the past. Again, that was years ago and then I never tried again, wearing just my regular glasses in the shop which I will say I sacrificed a couple pairs over the years in there.

I spent a few days with them on in the shop this past weekend as promised. I didn't test their protective qualities thankfully but I do think they were 100% worth the price of admission. Nice big viewing lenses with side covers for protection there too, not to mention the arms curve in nicely so they stay tight on your face without being to tight to cause an annoyance. Script was done well. My progressive script cost $200 on these but it was worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these. If you have a normal non progressive script then I have no idea why you aren't ordering these for the $50 or whatever it was for the regular script. That's an insane deal IMO

I don't have any complaints so far with these. They are however just safety glasses so they are as exciting as safety glasses get but if you've attempted to find prescription safety glasses and failed then you know this is kind of exciting.

While typing that last response I got an email for a discount from the dudes site. It doesn't say when it ends and honestly I have never bought anything from this dude so I have no idea how I ended up on his mailing list. I mean, now I have so whatever put me on his list paid off in a sold pair of glasses I guess.

So I took the plunge and ordered the non-script version. My eyesight is ideal at 20" so they'll be good for now.
Discount code worked, $7.50 off which mostly covered the shipping.
got mine today, they fit me perfectly. i like the size of the lens and the side cover is nice. i hope they dont scratch easily as they claim. wish i had known about the discount ?

Potz I didn't use a discount for mine. I just saw it in my email when I was replying yesterday. No clue when it started and there isn't an end date on the email. Glad you like the recommendation.

Mine just arrived!

These are the non-script version, but compared to my regular glasses I wear in the shop (polycarb lenses at least), these are nice and super clear. Super comfy too! Very light.
I first noticed that the sides really curved in towards the ears and I was thinking that would create pressure points, but nooooo. Much more comfy than my regulars and fit is super secure without feeling like my head is in a vise. Side shields don't touch the face so good air flow for no-fog.

Now just to remember to put them back in the pouch when done for the day.
yeah im liking mine. and yeah i need to keep em in the pouch myself !
