Thanks George. The top half is made of 1"x 8" pine finished at 1/2" thick and the bottom half is made of 2"x 8" pine that is cut into 2 pcs. One which is the absolute 
bottom is finished at ~ 1/2" thick and Second is the cavity body ~ 3/4" thick ( this has to equal to or greater than the plane body thickness) I traced the plane and knobs shape onto this piece and then scroll sawed them out. Afterwards I laminated these two pieces to make a completed bottom.  (When I cut these two pieces I used a thin kerf blade, grain matched, and dressed to perfection)You can't even see the line. It looks like it was milled on a CNC.
