re: Hand carving

Good first try – ain’t it amazing how little fun things like this are quickly grabbed up when available? Fun to do, but rounding the ball can be tedious. I’ve made some that look more like a little trapped shuttle than a ball and I worked with one until it fell out of the cage – I still didn’t get it as round as I wanted it when I had it out in the open. Note that the whole piece burned very nicely in the fireplace.
