This brings back memories. I did one, YEARS, ago and it’s been in my mother in law’s glass top table for decades. Fun, aren’t they? Thanks for sharing!

Never saw that before. Cool

Good first try – ain’t it amazing how little fun things like this are quickly grabbed up when available? Fun to do, but rounding the ball can be tedious. I’ve made some that look more like a little trapped shuttle than a ball and I worked with one until it fell out of the cage – I still didn’t get it as round as I wanted it when I had it out in the open. Note that the whole piece burned very nicely in the fireplace.

It looks like a tough challange.

This was my 1st attempt at hand carving. A captured ball out of one piece of wood I made another larger one with 3 or 4 balls that my sister grabed.
