Thanks, Bruce. I originally got started making lids that way so that the front of the box was lower than a traditional box with the same height all they way around. That way you can more easily pick things out of it!! For all those cuts I use an angle plate I made for the band saw so that the box is truly vertical and I get the same cut shape on both ends- no taper from one side to the other. It leaves minimal sanding too.
