yes thats what it is. it will save your motor from overload and burning out. yeah i always leave mine on high and it self adjusts for the load. i bought this sander about 8 years ago, adjusted the the tracking once, and have never had to adjust again ! my old (POS) delta couldn't keep track for anything !
