Hi Bruce. John brought all these pistachio trees up from California 2 years ago. He bought a whole orchard of trees- 3 semi loads. I bought one of the trunks for $200 and had it sliced lengthwise and it was  cracked all over. It was about 12" in diameter. I got this piece from the boxes with all the branch stock. I wish I had a vacuum chamber to pull epoxy into one of these pieces before machining it!!
