I’ve become more and more convinced that fresh bandsaw blades are the entire game when it comes to using that tool. And that they wear out extremely fast and have to be changed often…which most folks rarely do (myself included!). The difference between a new blade and the same blade two dozen big cuts later is really telling. I fresh blade resawing almost doesn’t need to be sanded coming off my WT16”. But it only takes a couple cuts and that novelty is gone. Still cuts well, but not like that. 

I’ve also become a staunch believer that bandsaw drift is a myth. Sharp blades on properly set up saws just don’t drift (caveat that some really hard, wild grained woods might cause some deflection).
