Ducky I have dunked in the past, beside being pretty wasteful unless you are doing a lot of boards, doing several pours as I did on the second one, and even my Sister has mentioned how much heavier her board is. I have to believe that extra weight is the result of a lot more oil in the board, and it will protect the wood from the ravages of soap and water. I don't have scientific data to back it up, nor would I know how to collect it, beside just doing them several ways and weighing them after? I think to be fair to dunkers you would also need to do a few with other influences as well. Like Splint's using a veneer bag to pressure in the oil. Or dunking, and leaving it weighted down in the oil for an extended time.
