I'm a fan of the Brusso's like Petey. I sell stuff and problem is the Brusso's can be 50% of the materials cost. They are the go-to for fine jewelry boxes however.
To reduce that expense and still keep the 95 degree open (slight tilt back so the lid stays open). I'll usually design the overhang on the lid or have fat legs so the lid lip contacts something solid at the proper angle.
