I like how you made that, the method of construction holes sure beats trying to intersect totally blind or trying to get the depths exact.
I have an old rock saw where the blade spins through a bath of oil (mineral spirits). Never fired it up as it takes about a gallon, but would be fun to crack open some geodes!
