It just occurred to me that you could install that bent metal piece on the bottom of a bench or something near where you usually do you glue ups and and only need one hand to open a bottle. Just slide the top into the slot and pull down. It would be sort of like having a bottle open installed in the shop but instead of beer for your glue bottle.
