Yep.  The paint was applied to raw wood after using a coat of grey primer and  sanding with 400 wet dry.  The paint was a simple rattle can product.  I used that because I was too lazy to use my HVLP sprayer or my airbrush set up.  :-)   Glad you like it.  I think I wrote this before but I did build both versions, ie, unpainted and painted.  I offered the painted version to a veterans group for a silent auction.  It ended up going to $600.  I was happy that there was that much interest and the money went to an excellent cause.
