Thanks everyone for the kind comments.  And Dutchy, the only time (knock on wood) that I have ever hurt myself in the shop was in the '70's when I was repairing a cherry music stand for a guy and the leg support had the same scroll work that tops most violins.  I was in the final smooth around with the "V" chisel when the piece jumped out of the clamps and my left index finger got the carve.  I was a clarinet player in the Army Field Band  in Washington DC and so you can imagine how well that worked.  So that ended my carving days until I got the CNC.
