Pottz: Two other interior finish ideas.  First, since you made a template, you could have double taped it on the cutout and used a router with a straight bit with a bottom bearing for cleanup, and/or a quick use of the spindle sander to clean up the interior and then flocking.  Just another couple ideas.  Regardless, great work.
