I can see that you made it for older TV's due to the extra depth, but that big screen looks right at home.
I made a build in for all sorts of stuff, but the center was 24" deep to hold a heavy 33" CRT. Little did I realize that the 33" would crap out about 1 year after finishing it and the LCDs were down from exotic prices to consumer level.
Fortunately I made the inset shelf unit adjustable so it didn't look awkward with the change to HD format.
