Thanks, guys.  I didn't get any time in the shop today, but will hopefully make more progress tomorrow.   I have some unexpected extra time - tracking for the fabric shipment shows it almost made it to me in Ohio, then took a left turn and headed off to Wisconsin.  I guess there's an infinite number of routes from CA to OH, and USPS tries all permutations.
