Forgot to ask what kind of press do you use... assuming it was too big to sit on... not casting aspersions on your posterior's size.

I have a hand pumped bag

but would like to use my Grabo or vacuum pump to drive it (the bag)... however, hardware for the bag has me stumped.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
