I used to use these scalpels that I got in bulk from my dermatologist... hopefully they were unused ones... traded for a few puzzles for his kids. They sort of worked, but were a struggle, especially on this grainy, easily torn out wood, The HOZO fixed in seconds and I didn't need multi passes using a hard backing board.... it does the cutting, I just have to guide. You might need to buy one when you start making all those puzzles you're yearning for.
If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
