My flagpole mount on the side of the house saw it's best days many years ago. Finally I stepped up and did something. I'll see if I did the right thing.
I ordered a metal bracket off the big river . Scraps are usually my first choice for many things. I used western red cedar. Fence boards. $3 and change at the borg. This equates to about 50 cents material for this.
I trimmed the end of the pole to clean up the damage. I put a dowel into a lathe chuck and drilled it to accept the flag pole. Also drilled for the set screws . I wish I had something better than dowel rod. I'll look around around for an acrylic rod or something.
It only uses the supplied hardware and attaches easily to the porch rail.
I want to find out how the cedar holds up outside. I'm working on something made using western red cedar. This has nothing applied.
