Favourite Tool

This is my favourite tool; a well used Veritas bevel up jack plane.

I have a 38 degree plane iron in it and a 50 deg. iron for difficult grain. The plane is remarkably versatile; I use it for everything from initial rough stock removal, to jointing, flattening and smoothing. Part of its versatility comes from the ease of mouth adjustment; rather than getting out a screwdriver and adjusting the frog, simply loosen the front knob and open or close the mouth. Overall a well designed, well thought out plane.
