Chisel Storage

My wife got 2 wide chisels for me (She got tired of listening to me saying what if I had them). So I quickly made a home for them. I wanted to do a Japanese Sashimono style box so I tried what they call inro box style (a combo of rabbet & box joint).

As Paulownia boards I had were 3/8" cheapy fluffy glued board from Daiso(a dollar store), I wasn't sure if I can cut the joint but I made it!

Since I was working on it within a limited time line, the chisel holder inside the box is badly fabricated(tears/break out) so I just used screws to place it in the box. I'm not sure if I will ever remake it(it's just a chisel storage) but I may make it again if anyone give me chisels as a gift (welcome/kidding).

I also made another box(taller one) for marking tools but I'm still not sure how I can lay them inside the box so I'll do it someday maybe...

Pottz, Paulownia is supposed to be good to protect stuff inside from humidity but we are in CA! Though it was a little bit raining today here!

Nicely done and the joints looks great, a nice touch with dust lip on the box also.

That one freeway will get you all the way to Canada if you want! But it’s a loooong drive…

Who wants to go to Canada?

YRTi - so simple yet not simple.  I really like the work you do.

Good storage , good work.

Brian - Thank you. I learnt enough about a simple box has no where to hide a mistake! A little bit of sanding to clean an edge makes it look off the alignment easily...

and don't forget we can always go to Mexico by I-5 freeway!

Oldriver - Thank you:)
