Maple Wall Shelf

I have been moving this piece of wood around the garage for 2 or 3 years.  Wifey wanted me to make a floating shelf out of it.  Was too thin to make what I view a floating shelf to be.  So thought about it and during construction this morphed a bit but I am happy with how it came out.

Had some bow in it that was cured by cutting off 6 inches from one end and then jointing it and running it through a drum sander.
Used about 5 coats of 1# cut of Platina Shellac and two thin coats of MW Wipe on Poly.

Screw holes filled with Walnut plugs selected cuz I already had them.

Purdy piece of wood!

Like how you preserved its edge and used it in the perfect setting. Great that it is low enough to see that grain!
Thanks for the comments.

Hi Dave, the reveal date is around the 18th of March.

Great natural edge shelf, Dave. I like it better with the  support  and gussets under it.
