I joined the /r/woodworking discord in time for them to start a fun Box contest. I had to challenge myself with extras because I was a little more experienced than some of the members, but it was fun.
Handmade wooden hinges, pillowed dovetails. 100% hand tools.

Nice looking box and the dovetails are wonderful along with the hinges. The compass rose looks great too.

Cools design Jon... Green Bum (Grassy Arse), for the blog on the roses... but , you don't get off that easy... You should never have mentioned the Handmade wooden hinges without substantiation.
If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
