Commissioned Project

Project makes me happy because I get to do something for my son, who does so much for me.  My son asked me to do a portrait of Hendrix, actually 3 of them.  He wanted to give copies to his life long friend (a guitar player), his guitar teacher and one for his own music room.  I stack these so I really only cut it once.  The pattern is by Charles Dearing of "Wooden Visions"

Great job on the hairline.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Excellent!
How long does it take to cut the stack out?
I do not keep track of how long it takes.  Did when I first started scrolling but later, never paid attention.  Hard to do because I may be working on several things at once and bounce between them.  The cutting I really enjoy so time does not matter, the preparing and finishing, I do not really enjoy.. took me more headache and longer to make three frames than the actual cutting.
Good to know!

I had guessed that the cutting is a big part of the enjoyment. It's when the creation begins to take form.

Sanding/finishing? I really doubt that anyone looks forward to those steps (unless it's a flat surface)
The legend lives on!

With the new comments, I get dragged back into this thread.

Keeps reminding me of my first guitar and amp I hocked as a desperate uni student back in 1968... wonder if it;s still available without the docket.

Hmmm. I can see you filling in for the lead in AC/DC. You'd look good in school colors!
It was possibly a Les Paul too!
OMG LBD in a Young school outfit I could just hear the thunder from here!

Not my kind of "music" but I do admire his ability, like a drummer I do not know how they do it!  I was more of a Chet Atkins fan.  But to each their own.
Your works are fantastic in that you do these with a scroll saw. You are a true artist. Keep these coming, I love them.
