100 Toolboxes

10 years ago my current shop opened for business. My big shop door opens onto an alley that parents and children use for various errands and what-not. Back then I started an endevour that has I believe come to a close. I felt that every child should have a tool box. Able to carry around tools, lego's, art and what-have-you. Always given, never sold. Each child in my neighborhood has one including 2 that weren't born at the time of their construction. It of course expanded beyond the few blocks that surround my shop. The children now have grown and new ones are not too frequent visitors anymore. What you see is #'s 99 & 100. A grand number to wrap up on. Hard maple, milled to 1/2". Personalized with a routed in name and presented each time with a smile. My fondest memory is of the grand parent who asked for one as a christening gift. Who coming back 3 weeks later presented me with a picture of their new grand daughter swadled up and laying in the tray of her toolbox with her name proudly displayed. This folks is why we do what we do.

Some of my most creative moments have been when I've had to cover up an error in my woodworking.

That is a brain twister!!

I see that it is still difficult for you to make good wood joints. 😊😉 But I have to admit that I like your creation.
