Table for Jet 16-32

This is an upgrade for my drum sander,   the plans are modified from a recent Woodworking magazine project, the original was designed for a bench planer.    I made a few changes including the size to fit the sander,  the rollers that seemed like a good idea at the time but might not be necessary, and I added a couple of inches to the height to make it more comfortable for me.    Also I added a feature to support the wings when they are folded down.  The wings extend 2 feet on each side and should help minimize the snipe I've been getting.  The plans called for 3/4 plywood construction but I had some solid lumber so substituted it.

Very nice! I’ve got a flip top for my jointer and thicknesser that works great, but it could be interesting to have a flip top for a thicknesser and drum sander. That way the wings could service both and the tools go together anyway. Of course, then I’d need to find a place for my jointer. Sigh, as always, I need more room…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Ryan,
I feel your pain, never enough space.    Glad someone thought to invent the wheel.

great looking cart albert. ive got the jet table and extention wings on mine. it's an older model. how are you liking it so far. i love mine. ive never had to adjust the tracking since day one.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

HI Pottz,    the Jet is an upgrade from my old POS Delta machine that I struggled with for 10 years before I finally got fed up and splurged on the 16-32.   I am VERY happy with it!

i hear ya same for me. the delta needed constant track adjusment and then the motor burned out so getting rid of it was easy. i luv the jet and will highly recommend to anyone. and ive got a jet midi lathe, spindle sander and air filter, all work very well with no issues.

Nice setup Albert 👍

I went with rollers for my extension because I had them and  they work better than tables in some instances.

You can see a glimpse in the bottom of the photo.
Albert,

Nice setup you got there.  Our shop  had a couple of pinch injuries between the sandpaper conveyor and the original aluminum outfield table.  Yours is safer.

Nice setup! Was your original sander on a stand or a benchtop model? I have a custom stand on my list of projects, but the factory stand is pretty good.
Nice setup Albert!!

Steve,   I had the factory table but thought this would be an improvement because
* It has the wings to support longer projects
* I was able to increase the height
* It seemed like kind of a fun project at a slow time in the shop

Nice cart, Albert.  A while back I made a flip cart for the little brother Jet 10-20 and planer, but got distracted before adding support wings.  Yours turned out great.
