Left over from my wood turning days. I lost interest and sold my lathe after a learning curve where I learned that I really don't have the patience for the process so I sold my lathe.
I turned many years ago, and got to the point you are at, it was more work than the joy it brought, so I quit, and sold the equipment. Now many years past that, I kinda miss it, and find myself looking at lathe's and wondering??? I think I have more patience than earlier, and I have nothing but time now. Maybe it's just where in life the crash occurs?
You appear to have had more of a gift for it, than I did, those segmented pieces are harder than what I used to do.
The first time I saw this post was on my phone. The image was so small that I was wondering why you posted a picture of an apple. Clearly you did o good job on this (or I am easily fooled 😁)
I'm not a great woodturner. But from time to time I use my lathe, and mostly for parts of my models. I do not have the skills (yet) to make such a beautiful Apple. Also I have not the patient to be hours after the lathe. But I'm spending a lot of hours making models. I can understand you sold your lathe, but I hope that you in the future will be a woodworker for a long time
