My Way Of Storing English Breakfast Tea

As I've aged, I've had to modify my behavior concerning certain things. This year it has been my coffee habit. So now, tea is once again my beverage of choice. With English Breakfast Tea the front runner. Not wanting to burden my wife with a paper box of tea sitting on our counter I determined to build a "tea box". While explaining this to a woodworking friend he volunteered 2 pieces of "highly figured walnut firewood". I graciously accepted them and proceeded to process them into wide enough parts to match my vision. The pictures show the progression from joint calibration, parts prep, dry fit and glue up to the completed project. Being an ocean sailor and keeping with this being an English Tea box I opted for the British maritime Union Jack as the highlight and proceeded to build my lid around it. 240mmX240mmX114mm.
