Wooden bowl

Wooden bowl.  Basswood with southwest icon carvings. I used bandsaw and Arbor Tec for basic shape and some wood removal. The rest was done with hand tools. Icons are real and imaginary. Color is from craft resin. I found the resin difficult to use ( too runny) until I learned to let it almost set up before pouring. Finish is Danish oil and wax. Fun to try and still much to learn.
Nicely done. Very rustic looking.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

I really like the pedestal, goes with the bowl nicely!

Yes, the resin is quite low viscosity which makes it great for pouring and having any air bubbles float out, but that only works for a flat surface. Only other thing I can think of (besides what you did) is to use some acrylics.

Nice job!
Thanks for comments and advice

Love that grain on the inside!
Nice interesting bowl.    The icons are fitting.  Do I see Kokopelli ?

Size is about 7x6x14”. You could or you could see a strange looking person.   Grain is nice and brought the small gouge marks.
yeah i like the character and texture the gouge marks make. i love rustic.
