Shop assistant

While not made of wood, this is my assistant in the shop for 18 years - all 17 pounds of her.  She is shown in her usual highly alert posture, always on guard against any critters that might attack. Dainty little thing !

An outstanding helper, always ready to give advice, but quiet, never criticizes anything I do, always ready to watch my progress.

She has even learned to eat roasted peanuts - as long as I shell them for her.

5/12/17 - UPDATE: Sasha (AKA "Fat Cat") passed away 2 weeks ago. She was about 18 years old (her predecessor lived 21 years). I still look for her following as I walk out to get the paper every morning. Her chair in the shop is empty.  Wanda caught me saying "Hi, kitty" as I walked out into the garage today.

11/25 - I still have not removed her chair from the shop; I still expect her to jump in my lap when I sit down in my chair.

The only problem with pet ownership/housing is the darn things live such short lives compared to our Human cycle, and their loss is often more of a hardship than many fambly members. We've been several years now without a pet in our home, it's hard not to grab every stray we see trying to make it's way through life on Earth.
