Jewelry Box

Gift making again. I built this box for a gift using another box I made years ago as a pattern. I think the plans came from Rockler of Woodcraft, not sure. The finish is gloss poly and the interior is Donjer Flocking from Woodcraft. The wood is walnut with birds eye maple from Woodcraft. the hinges were a little pricey from Woodcraft so I found them on Amazon for half the price and got two pairs.

Really nice wood combo! Maple and walnut always work well together and that blue flock really adds class.

I hate looking for hinges, either too expensive or too flimsy. When I find a perfect balance I'll grab a bunch.
Agree nice work and a good looking box

Lovely! Having that birdseye maple for the top is such a nice combination with the walnut. Could you comment on how you have the maple held in place? Really like the look both when closed and open.
Nicely done! That’s a beautiful piece of birdseye!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Sweet Sparky, beautiful creation. This gives me ideas for Christmas gifts for my three granddaughters. Thanks
Beautiful jewelry box. Nice choice of woods, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
