Desk for our son

This is a desk for our oldest son.  After retiring from the Airforce and buying a home, he asked me to build his desk.  It is all red oak.  The base is stained dark brown.  The cabling running through the desk are an homage to his being an avionics technician during his time in the Airforce.  BTW, he retired as a Master Sargeant.  As with any build, I try something new.  I used castle joints in most of the corners.  The fun part is I got to try my new CMT Tools locked dado blade set.  Worth every penny.

Wow! Gorgeous desk, and love the generous surface area. What did you use for finish? Looks great.
Space to work!
Of course he'll need a swivel/rolling chair to really go for it, but that design looks like something that will remind him of his career with the industrial lines.
Nice looking desk.

Nice, clean lines.

Everyone has stuff.
What’s the solution going to be for  “stuff”?
Nice work.  Thank your son for his service.
thats a great desk bob. he's gonna love all the desk top space !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.  To answer questions.
The final finish on all of it is Minwax urethane.  The stain on the base is General Finishes cinnamon.
Where he puts his stuff is up to the son.  The desk is what he wanted.  No drawers, shelves, or the like.
Nicely done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Nicely done! Castle joints are fun to make...
