It was Peter who was looking for a set of plans for a Lancaster. Since Peter usually builds models to play with, this Lancaster is different from what I normally draw/build. But that’s what makes it fun, too, because it presents a different set of challenges. (Feel free to publish yours as well, Peter).
During my correspondence with Ken from Acuteabove (Canada), he offered to create a build series. Ken’s series are accessible to a wide audience. The first video was released yesterday.

It is clear from the above that this was a collaborative project. I am very pleased with it, and to acknowledge everyone's efforts, the drawing will be available for purchase for just €1 over the coming weeks.
Forgot to add.... This plane has great detail, especially given it is built heavy-duty for play! It is certainly something that would be a top-shelf display, fun play toy or finished out and aerodynamic!
That is a real cool plane that is beefy enough to have kids playing with it without worry of damage. Typical model planes are too fragile to be able to have little kids play with them, Those old Lancaster bombers were some real planes, too !!!

What I find so impressive about this design is that, even though it’s intentionally less realistic than your other models, it captures the essence of the actual plane perfectly. One quick glance is all it takes to recognize it’s a Lancaster. That can’t have been easy to achieve. Fantastic!

I like the design but it is very large. IMHO it is almost too large for a child to play with. His site says 55 x 65 x 12 cm which I calculate to be 25.6 x 21.6 x 4.7 inches. If I make model for kids it would be smaller and easier for a child to hold like it was flying.

You are not the only one with this thought.
And I think you have a point there, and I am considering making a drawing based on a similar, smaller model. However, I always try to keep the proportions in mind, which means the smaller parts become smaller, and therefore more fragile.
I appreciate your reconsidering the size issue and I am sorry to criticize your design. There is a real trade off between size and details. I was thinking about a child maybe about eight with the plane in his hand flying it around his house. The current design is too big and heavy for his hands with a plane 10-12 inches might be better.
Birdseye49: While I agree with your size concern, the toy does include features that, if reduced too much, could result in some pieces being more fragile and easily broken. that said, one could always reduce the 1:1 template printing by 12 or so % in order to see if that results in the sizing you desire. The beauty of the plans is that we can enlarge or reduce them as we desire. The fuselage, wings, and rear empennage, once reduced would set the conditions of the remaining parts. Just my thoughts.
