This was my second attempt at making a freehand sign. My first, I used a piece of scrap cabinet grade ply. It turned out so nice, even with the sanded ply, that I gave it to my Daughter for their new home in the Dallas area. This one, my second, went to my nurses who administered my chemo, back when I HAD cancer.
It’s made out of Pine. First I printed out my letters, then used carbon paper to transfer it to the wood. Then I used a Ridgid router to route out the letters. Sprayed the background with black spray paint, then coated it with Minwax Poly.
