Scrap save with walnut around sides

Made this and was not fully satisfied choose to give to favorite aunt that was happy to receive it. So we were both happy.The little 45 degree white piece stood out wasn’t sure if it was end grain during assembly didn’t see it until final sanding wanted to remove it but left well enough alone hoped the cherry would darken over time.
