Had to insert the aged cedar into the oak on all 4 sides . After that was done I cut it in half and added the large aged cedar ring , used walnut for the base and poplar for the cap. When all done I inserted a pvc pipe with a cap to hold the water . Six coats of polyurethane.

Just left a question about the waterproofing on the finished product page. Now I know. Good idea!

Your clamps must be gigantic. The finished product looks bigger than the blank. Optical illusion. Cool blank too. I have to try that sometime.
