Outdoor Cooler Cart

This outdoor cooler cart was a well received last
minute Father’s Day gift. I searched for basic plans online and found one that suited my needs. I ended up changing quite a bit throughout the process and used premium cedar boards instead of pressure treated like I’d seen a lot of. I built around the cooler so that it fit nice and snug in the base, added the boards to the side to hide everything, as well as a shelf on the bottom and put casters on one side to make it easier for moving. Instead of buying a large handle, I ripped a 2×4 down on the table saw to make a 2×2 and then notched out the hand grove and attached with bolts. It’s sturdy, and also acts as a hand towel holder! The spout was added to help drain the cooler without having to lift it out of the cart. To personalize it, I used my Cricut Explore machine to cut out the stencil and painted using exterior grade paint. The whole thing was sanded with 120 and 220 grit sandpaper and then sealed with an exterior polyurethane to help with its use outdoors. Very pleased with how it turned out !

Very cool idea! Love the wood and your personalizing on the front!
