Walnut & Ebony Jewelry Box

This simple little box is made out of domestic walnut from Jefferson County, WV, with ebony accents left over from making guitar fingerboards. I made this for my girlfriend, so she would always have a little piece of West Virginia no matter where life takes us. I decided to go with brushed brass hinges, as it ties in well with the rustic feel.

Very nice. I like the look of the front, it looks like you left the saw kerfs on it for texture.

Yep, the wood was lightly sanded and then stained. I didn’t use a sealer, which brought out the saw kerfs even further.
