Headboard

Built this “beach” style headboard as a surprise for my wife. The headboard was stained, painted, then distressed to match the night stands which are shown on one of my previous posts.

I love that style of finish. I have used bleached and paint mixed with varnish for a similar result without the distressed factor. I think I made over 400 tables with this finish. Your trim and accents on the headboard look fantastic.

Looks great. I like it a lot, but I can’t help wondering what furniture carpenters would think of us beating up a newly made and finished piece. They would probably think we were crazy!

Well I guess I shouldn’t say distressed. Basically just sanded so the stain would show through. So, antiqued?

It totally has that rustic look nice work.
