Old hobby woodworker (74) with unrealistic ambitions and low output. I'm In it more for the process than the results, but it is nice to see a finished product too. I see a lot of my old woodworking friends on this site who otherwise know me as Stefang.

Hi Mike. I have a few online friends in Norway. I would love to go there to visit. My father was a boat builder and I’ve always been near the water. Denmark is another destination of mine too.

Martin Thank you, I’m very glad to see you back in the saddle again!

Paul Glad to see you made it back alive. I hope you had a great time on your voyage. I cut the veneers for our little project yesterday and glued paper on the ones for the marquetry picture. I plan to make the packet today and cut it. My fear level is falling fast as everything has gone very smoothly so far. Now I’m worried about the sand shading. One step at a time.

David If you decide to make a trip to Norway please let me know. It would be nice to have a visit from a fellow woodworker and I would be glad to show you around our area with it’s fjords, mountains and coastline. It’s all with a few minutes of where I live. I am located near Stavanger Norway. It rains a lot here, but we just ignore it. We do have some good weather too occasionally.

Bob Good to see you here too. Actually I posted the year I was born, 1940 ( not 1840). Sorry to hear that you are have the pain problems. I plan to keep going until I drop, but I hope that won’t be in the garden, but in the shop. We visit my MIL in the old folks home every Sunday and I’m always surprised to see so many folks my age there, it’s scary. I hope you get well soon so you can enjoy your woodworking again. I always love your projects (creations?). Meanwhile I hope my little poem cheered you up.

L/W and Ian Thanks much to both of you. It’s good to see you here too.

Mike,
So nice to see so many old friends here. I hope to be doing more although I signed up for 7 Artisan’s Fairs here on Cape Cod from this weekend through the first week in December. While I hope to try some more creative things, I also have to keep up with my inventory… but when everyday is Saturday (retirement), then I should have lots of time.

Thank you Ellen, same here. One of the big surprises of retiring is that folks usually feel a lot more busy than they expected. This feeling might take awhile to kick in, but I can assure you that it will eventually. The phenomena is caused by our age unperceptively slowing us down while the world keeps spinning at it’s usual rate.

Hi Bruce and thanks for the kind words. I like trying all kinds of woodworking. I’m new to carving, and I’m having a lot of fun doing it.
